The 12:00 meeting was held in X150.
Seven members were in attendance: Linda Crowley, Samantha Fiscella, L. Kristin
Hess, Shree Kota, Carmen McCabe, Waylena McCully, and Karina Pavlova.
Tour IT is scheduled for the morning of December 2nd. Volunteers are needed to help guide visiting high school students to activities in various locations in the college, to assist instructors giving the workshops, to serve pizza and pop and hand out giveaways.
8:30 - 9:30 ... Greeters, at 9:20 take students to Workshops
9:20 - 10:30 ... Help in 1st workshop, take students to 2nd workshop
10:30 - 11:30 ... Help in 2nd workshop, take students to D244
11:30 - 1:00 ... Serve pizza (volunteers are fed), pass out giveaways, clean
up
Comments on interesting article... Carmen recommends that everyone read the
comments following the article, "Opening Doors for Women in Computing."
The comments illustrate some of the hostile attitudes out there, reinforcing
the need for showing young women and men that computers are not just for the

WCSIT Holiday Celebration. Mark your calendars for Wednesday,
December 7th. The party will be in B129, and will be from 3:30pm until 5:30pm.
We're planning to invite PCSCS and the CSIT faculty and staff. A potluck signup
will be announced as the date gets closer. Also, attendees will be asked to
bring a canned food item to donate to a local food bank.
A group visit to Wolfram Research Friday, December 9th - time TBA.
High School Outreach. Carmen suggests that we put together
some information packets we can deliver to area high schools.

1. Purchase pop This can be done any time before the day of the sale. All expenses are reimbursed.
2. Fill coolers with pop and ice. This needs to be done the morning of the pizza sale. It can be done any time between 8:00 am and 10:00 am.
3. Create price list.
4. Table set up. This is done around 10:15 on the day of the sale.
5. Promoters. EVERYONE can let their morning classes know about the sale. Wear your WCSIT t-shirts on pizza sale days.
6. Pizza sellers. (This is fun.) You can work the entire time or for as long
as you have available.
Remember: Many hands make for light work. Please don’t let the responsibility
of fund-raising fall on a few members. Help any way that you can.
