The 12:00 meeting was held in X150. Seven were in attendance: Ann Blackman, Linda Crowley, Kristin Hess, Kasey Kerr,
Shree Kota, Waylena McCully, and Jerie Wills.
Pizza Sales - October 7, November 4, and November 21
Funds raised from events like food sales go toward the yearly WCSIT scholarship. Last year, the club raised over $10,000, including prize money from the Games 4 Girls contest. That $10,000 formed the scholarship endowment, interest from which goes toward the yearly scholarship. During times of lower interest rates, additional funds are raised through food sales and other fundraising events.
Point System - The currently proposed point system for levels of achievement in the club is available for review. Please review, as we’ll be voting on this in an upcoming meeting.
I.O.C. report - The next I.O.C. meeting will be in November. The lottery for Spring semester food sales dates will be held.
Meeting minutes from all clubs should be copied to John Eby.
Each organization is required to do at least 2 events per semester. The Pumpkin Carving contest counts, as do display cases and food sales.
October 26 is the date for the Pumpkin Carving contest. Pumpkins must be completed by 10am and will be displayed from 10am until 2pm. Prizes are $75 for first, $50 for second, $30 for third, and $25 for participating.
Linda and Waylena are coordinating on the WCSIT entry for the contest. If you’re interested in helping out, contact either Waylena (wmccully@parkland.edu) or Linda (lcrowley@parkland.edu).
Website assistance - Kasey has designed and created for us one of the best websites out there. (http://wcsit.csit.parkland.edu). She is currently looking for assistance in maintaining the website’s content. If you’d like to help out, contact Kasey (kkerr@parkland.edu).
