Respectfully submitted by Waylena McCully, secretary.

President Marlene Long began the meeting at 12:00 noon in room B113.
There were 8 people present.

Marlene said that she's already receiving compliments on our display case, even from folks in other departments.

Marlene demonstrated the powerpoint presentation that Kasey has been working on. Everyone agrees that it looks great and will have many uses beyond the display cases.

Instead of holding a regular meeting on Wednesday, December 8th, members will gather in the college center to dismantle the current display case. We should all wear our club T-shirts so that Ann Blackman can take a group picture.

Instead of a regular meeting on Wednesday, December 15th, Marlene will be setting up a table in the college center from 10-2 promoting our club. If you are finished with final exams or just need a break from studying, stop by for a bit to help attract new members.

The first meeting of the Spring semester will be Wednesday, January 12th, time and location TBA. For Spring semester meetings we will be trying something new. Instead of meeting every Wednesday, the group will alternate between two different days of the week. Hopefully this will allow more members and potential members to attend. Email Marlene your availability for Spring so she can try to find days that will fit most schedules.

Marlene has gathered and sent out a list of all members, with email addresses and phone numbers. Go Marlene! With all email addresses gathered in one location, meetings from minutes will be emailed directly to the membership.

Congrats to Kasey for passing her A+ Hardware exam. She reports that the exam contained a great deal more networking content and less on printers than expected. She also says that the Trancenders and the CD from the back of the current CSC133 book were most helpful in preparing for the test. Kasey plans to take the A+ OS exam before the end of the year. Go Kasey!

Ann urges all to consider applying for Perkins-funded vouchers (deadline Dec. 1) for certification exams. For those not qualifying, reduced cost vouchers are available. Contact Marc Shudel (403-4587) for voucher information.

Inspired by all of the certification talk, and with a bit of prodding from Ann, several members have agreed to attempt their A+ exams in early January. Marlene, Carmen, Julie and Waylena will be studying over the break between semesters. Give them a call if you'd like to take up the challenge as well. Good luck, everyone!

Ann mentioned that the UofI women's computer group is planning a celebration of women in computer science, aimed primarily toward high school students, on January 28th and 29th - more details as they become available.

Ending on a complimentary note, Carmen pointed out that our website looks MUCH nicer than those at Stanford and Berkeley. Again, Go Kasey!
